When you go onto a birth control pill, it takes 1 to 2 cycles (months) for it to start working effectively. Most doctors should tell you that when you go on it. You still need to use backup protection during that time. And each time you take it at a different time you reduce it's effectivness dramatically. If you want to rely on it and make it work you MUST stick to the schedule you decide.
