Scratches on my Toyota Celica's hood.....?

I own a Toyota Celica..ok while my car was parked some dum*** kids would hang out and sit on the front of my car. After a while i noticed all these scratches on the front of my car around where they sat. Not only is the hood scratched but the Toyota emblem is also peeled a little and has scratches around it too. These scratches are not deep but ive tried to put this sort of wax that has "carnuba wax" in it or something and i followed the directions using a cotton cloth but nothing. My friend told me that i had to buff it out is this true?? what do i do?
